In what follows are a series
of letters that were actually written by a mother to her son in the months
before the son’s marriage (Names changed to protect privacy). Not all sons have
the privilege of getting such lovely letters from their own mothers. I am sure
these are letters of immense value and great wisdom. I hope and pray that these
letters will prove to be useful for many young couples, especially those who
are going to be just married. And to those of you who have not had the
privilege of having such a godly mother, may these letters in some small way
serve to fill that void.
In many cases, young man and women who have now been engaged use these letters to provide content and direction for their conversations in the run up to the wedding day. Both read the same letter and discuss their thoughts or concerns when they talk later in the day.
